Tool
Shopify, Kaching, Section Shop, Kedra, One Click Post Purchase Upsell app
Issue
Ecommerce store owners struggle to increase average order value (AOV) and conversion rates without decreasing customer satisfaction; baseline AOV of $40 with volatility down to $35 limits profitable ad spend scaling.
Cost
$2,000–$3,000 per day in ad spend; 25–30% profit margin; achieving $10,000/day revenue required AOV increase from $40 to $46+
Recommendation
Tiered quantity discounts (2 items 10% off, 3 items 15%, 4 items 20%), pre-selected paid shipping upsells ($3.90 price point), and one-click post-purchase upsells; use free/paid Shopify apps (Kedra, Section Shop, Kaching) to implement. Comment confirms strategy validity.
Date context
Halloween 2024 campaign timeline; Black Friday preparation mentioned; strategy applied over 21-day window ending ~November 2024

This is a **dropshipping niche store focused only on SEO/SEA**, so I only pay for Google Shopping ads (around $2–3k per day), but I also get a lot of free organic traffic thanks to SEO. (The store was created 1 year ago). \~ 25/30% profit https://preview.redd.it/i8v5bunpx03g1.png?width=608&format=png&auto=webp&s=0304cbe22db30813dd336d8bbf4c57625a332e20 Today we will focus on AOV. I **increased the AOV from $40 to over $46**. This difference is a game changer to scale ad spend more easily and generate more volume and profit. You can see that before Halloween, my AOV was around $40, with some days even dropping to around $35. https://preview.redd.it/nrym4q2ut03g1.png?width=714&format=png&auto=webp&s=585a6de4b0c67dfa39e1af4d620983d6c51cc841 I applied all my strategies for Halloween, and you can see the difference in the days after: https://preview.redd.it/cdk28h04u03g1.png?width=704&format=png&auto=webp&s=7045b40f0b57f0c4131148441043e14b7b4e58ab Now here are the 3 strategies: **1. I used tiered quantity discounts.** For example: 2 items = 10% off | 3 items = 15% off | 4 items = 20% off. You can easily set this up with Shopify’s automated discounts. It’s also good to display this marketing message everywhere: on the homepage, collection pages, and product pages. You can even add it to your cart drawer using **PAID** Shopify apps like Kaching, etc.. Here is an example of a website using this strategy: isabelle-mode.fr/en To do the marketing banners I used the **FREE** app named Section Shop that offers this kind of design. Here are results these last 21 days. https://preview.redd.it/ggfdk3vex03g1.png?width=1984&format=png&auto=webp&s=2bf5b632dfd625df3842887e5d8fd35fe640e5ab **2. Paid shipping : secret sauce** On my stores, I always offer Free Standard Shipping, but I also add paid options like Priority Processing or Shipping Insurance (lost package, etc.). In reality, these options are the same as standard shipping. **The key trick here is to use checkout rules to pre-select the paid option, even when the free option is available.** To do this, you need a Shopify app me I used a **FREE** one called Kedra. I tested different prices like $4.90 and $3.90, and I noticed a big difference: $3.90 performed the best. Run your own tests and monitor your conversion rate. For me, it didn’t decrease at all — it even increased lol. Results since 31st October : https://preview.redd.it/i8v5bunpx03g1.png?width=608&format=png&auto=webp&s=0304cbe22db30813dd336d8bbf4c57625a332e20 **3. Another important and easy 80/20 strategy is using a One-Click Post-Purchase Upsell.** Offer a good discount and a relevant additional product right after the customer places an order. Thank them and present the one-click upsell some will accept it, and it’s basically free additional revenue. This one is simple to set up and not difficult to implement. I used **FREE** apps named One Click Post Purchase Upsell app that offer AI setup. \---- These were the **3 simple steps and strategies** I applied. You can try them on your store and see a big difference in just a few days. If you need more details, I recorded a [full demo tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-qyEf3F9GE) feel free to check it out there are also proof of live results. Be ready for Black Friday! Hope it helps. https://preview.redd.it/jyeleuu0x03g1.png?width=1208&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6ff1e943de97c55f556ef2572d7bb1aa0951edd
